LAST WEEK’S RESULTS:
And then there were 107. That’s how many solvers figured out last week’s contest answer words, three related palindromes of two words and nine letters each: KNIFE FINK, KROFT FORK, and SPOON OOPS. Solution at top left.
They got there by solving the three crossword-style clues at the grid’s 15-letter entries: ASSAULT A STOOLIE, STEVE’S CHESS PLOY, and SOUP EATER’S ERROR. Lots of solvers mentioned getting stuck on some variation of “tar a rat” for the first one, and some mentioned never having heard of longtime “60 Minutes” correspondent Steve Kroft. Also a lot of “spork” jokes came in, which I’ll do you a favor and not share.
