Dear MGWCC Solver,

For the fifth time in the past year, I need to postpone MGWCC for a day. The Week 5 puzzle for May will go up tomorrow, Saturday the 31st, at 3 PM ET. Naturally I’ll extend the deadline accordingly, and I’ll also bump the number of monthly prizes for May from 10 to 15 as penance.

I know I said that the last time I did this (in March) would be the last time, but I really am on the tail-end of an extremely busy work period that’s stretched from the end of last summer to almost the beginning of this summer. It’s no coincidence that I’ve postponed MGWCC five times during that stretch but only two or three times in the five years before that. But my last of the past year’s many projects (Murder by Meta) is very close to the finish line and after that we will return to sanity.

In the meantime: Neville Fogarty is back with a new puzzle after a hiatus, so let me direct your Friday puzzle-solving energies there today.

Anyway, my sincere apologies for the delay, and hope to see you back here tomorrow afternoon.
