MGWCC #319 — Friday, July 11th, 2014 — “Triple Play”

LAST WEEK’S RESULTS:

mgwcc319

We were looking for a musical duo last week, and with PARSLEY, SAGE, ROSEMARY and THYME in the four theme entries, it had to be SIMON & GARFUNKEL, found by 633 solvers. Those four are mentioned in the chorus to their iconic song “Scarborough Fair”.

Not everyone dug the random apostrophe at the corner of ROSEMARY’S and NO ONE’S. What can I tell you? It’s Hookian (as in, a la Henry Hook).

I have a misspelled bootleg t-shirt from the last time this duo toured (Garfunfel, anyone?)

It was easy for Math Teacher Dave:

You’re making my confidence, Baby!

And thepiranha says:

My Aha! moment was preceded by a sound of silence.

This week’s winner, whose name was chosen randomly from the 633 correct entries received, is Jim Paget of Anaheim, Calif. In addition to a MGWCC pen, pencil and notepad set, Jim will also receive a copy of my new(ish) book Crunchy Crosswords.
