I'm Matt Gaffney. I've written over 4,000 crossword puzzles; it's been my full-time job for the last fifteen years.

I'm 39 years old and live in Staunton, Virginia, a mellow college town in the Shenandoah Valley. I like the Internet Chess Club, Gypsy Hill Park, Hikaru Nakamura, Vassily Ivanchuk and Roger Federer.
